We were trying for around 4 years with different IVF treatments until the clinic told us that my eggs were of bad quality and my husband was too old for treatment in Sweden. We were also too old for egg donation treatment in Sweden. We decided to go to St. Petersburg and it all happened very quickly! In 3 and a half months I was pregnant! If I would have known at the start, what I know now, I would not have done my IVF-attempts as egg donation gave us result straight away. It was the best decision of our lives! Naturally, I was worried and had thoughts regarding that I did not use my own genetical material, as this was another woman’s eggs, but these kinds of feelings disappeared very quickly, as I was carrying my child. When my daughter was born, I was also a little bit worried who she was going to look like, as she was not going to look like me, but she was going to look like her father. All these questions also disappeared after my daughter was born, as the bond is so strong after carrying, giving birth and breastfeeding her!
