We are a Norwegian couple who have had egg donation treatment at the clinic in St. Petersburg, Russia. We would like to share our experience with others. We have chosen to stay anonymous since we haven`t told anyone about our treatment.
From our initial meeting with Dr. Olga Zaytseff it took just about a year before we could hold our lovely little baby in our arms. It all started when we travelled to lovely St. Petersburg to be considered as receivers of the egg donation treatment. Everything was fine, our blood was tested and we had a thorough talk with Dr. Zaytseff about the treatment we were about to go through. Dr. Zaytseff started the look for an appropriate donor.
Our first impression of the clinic was that this was a professional clinic with modern and clean offices and laboratories.
Dr. Zaytseff provided us with the medication we needed to start the treatment. She also gave us a schedule so that we could plan our next trip according to the medications specifications. We had great influence on when the egg donation would be done.
All the time we had contact with Dr. Zaytseff on e-mail and via telephone – when You go through a process like this You have dozens of questions; Dr. Zaytseff promptly answered all our questions. The clinic also provided a wide range of chromosome tests that can be carried out on the embryos (PGD). We chose when the time came for the insertion.
We were very excited hoping that all would work as intended. The insertion itself is not painful, and You are kept under surveillance by the clinic for some time after the donation is completed, in case something may go wrong.
It`s important that You find a doctor in Norway that can support You and help You with ultrasound and other medical test required in the time after the donation.
