Johanna, @johannafgbg:
After years in the making I finally have my baby boy.
I started this journey in 2018 and contacted a Danish clinic while in the line for county treatment in Sweden. I knew in advance that after 35 years of age it would be difficult to get pregnant with own eggs. So had made a plan in advance as the project manager I am: own eggs in Scandinavia, own eggs at Olga clinic and then Donor eggs if my own eggs didn’t work, I had a mission to take on.
Little did I know the Scandinavian clinics did the job so poor and treated everybody as an assembly line. Neither the Danish or the Swedish clinic manage to fertilize my eggs and also picked the eggs too early.
I had heard about O.L.G.A. clinic and its good reputation and contacted them in 2020. Still realistic about succeeding with my own eggs but O.L.G.A. clinic wanted to give it a go. The treatment plan was individualized to me, and they managed to fertilize the eggs and perform PGT-A on the first IVF round. There it was unfortunately chromosome deficiency. A second IVF was performed where O.L.G.A. clinic with their expertise realized it was something off and asked me to come in for a genetic blood sample test.
It was then my genetic disease was discovered that the Swedish and Danish clinic missed. Had the Swedish clinic made this simple blood test to start with I had saved myself 5 IVF attempts and started with egg donation firsthand and also saved years in the making. Since the genetic disease makes me infertile.
And what a journey it has been, traveling during the pandemic, performed 2 IVFs and 2 donor eggs implantation, along with ERA and hysteroscopy, making it 5 trips to Saint-Petersburg. It has been an adventure and I have said to friends I should write a book 📕 about it.
During this journey I have made new friends for life, along with the best gift my 💙 baby boy Theodor 💙 now almost 6 month old, all due to O.L.G.A. clinic. I’m forever thankful 💫 to O.L.G.A. clinic for giving me my baby boy 💞
