My name is Tatiana Varzaeva and I am a perinatal psychologist in O.L.G.A. Fertility clinic.
What my work means to me
I decided to become a psychologist when I was 16 years old, and has never regretted my choice. I always enjoyed listening to people and helping them better understand themselves.
I am a perpetual student. I got honors degree of Counseling Psychology in 2005, and never stopped learning further. I studied fertility psychology, grieving support, attachment theory, hypnosis and relaxation techniques for birth. Now I study mind-body approaches in fertility treatment. I love reading and always looking for something to add to my professional library.
When I look at my experience from helicopter view it looks like a quilt blanket. Started as education psychologist at school, I switched to organizational psychology and HR career, and finally, after I became a mother myself, started to support women on their way to parenthood. I worked at school and educational center, for a multinational corporation and charity organization, at birth hospital and support groups. Every single piece of my patchwork fits in and creates a unique picture of who I am both personally and professionally. Every field I worked in brought its own learnings and challenges. But no matter what I did, it was always about helping people to discover their potential and find their way to happiness, supporting through difficult times, giving care and hope.
Being fertility psychologist is very meaningful for me. It gives me opportunity to touch hearts and minds of so many people and help them making their way to the parenthood conscious and blissful. I combine humanistic approach and best techniques from modern and traditional practices. I believe in healing power of listening, empathy and trusting relations.
I work with women and families during preconception, pregnancy and postpartum. I support and care about emotional well-being during fertility treatment, help to get ready for birth and motherhood. I share with my clients their grief and happiness, tears and smiles, desperation and hopes. I know that life is many-sided and diverse, and it is much bigger than anything we might think about it. I welcome life in all its manifestations.
My role in O.L.G.A. Clinic
I joined O.L.G.A. Fertility clinic as a fertility psychologist in 2018. It means a lot for me to be a part of the team. I know that it is not possible to effectively treat body without attending to the mind and soul. I really appreciate holistic approach in our clinic: we don’t treat infertility, we don’t treat ovaries or uteruses, but we do treat persons, with their unique needs and conditions. We do all our best to find a really individual approach to each of our clients. We help to find the way to parenthood you would be happy about.
Doctors care about physical part of the treatment, and I am here to care about your emotional well being. I am here to answer your questions and openly discuss any concerns about emotional/ social part of the treatment. My job is to create atmosphere of warmth and support for you. To listen to you, both with head and heart, and help you to find your own unique way to parenthood. And no matter what you are going through on the way to your child, you don’t need to go through it alone.
