Egg donation dilemmas:\u00a0Will the love and the bond be the same?<\/h2>\n

We often hear these questions that many women ask, when considering egg donation: \u201cWill I love the baby? Will the baby love me? Will the love and the connection be the same, as it could have been, had it been my own egg?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Pernille has a daughter through own egg IVF and a son through IVF with donor eggs. <\/strong><\/p>\n

She shared about her journey and feelings to both children during our seminar in Copenhagen on 30 May.<\/p>\n

I am the mother of Carla, who is 12 years old and was conceived with my own eggs, and Ludvig, who is 8 months old and came into the world through egg donation. And my motherhood feels exactly the same. I love both of my children equally.<\/p>\n

It is infinitely irrelevant and has absolutely no impact on my immense love, my strong bond, or my attachment to Ludvig, where the very first tiny grain of sand came from (apart from eternal gratitude to our wonderful donor).<\/p>\n

For us, the choice ultimately became more about love, family, and the dream of having a child than about genetic material, which suddenly became insignificant.<\/p>\n

If we could have done anything differently, it would have been to come to O.L.G.A earlier \u2014 the first place where we truly felt welcomed, listened to, understood, and supported throughout the entire journey toward becoming parents to our beloved baby, Ludvig.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
