\n\tLegislation in Russia on egg donation<\/h2>\n

\n\tMany countries’ laws don’t allow women to donate eggs. Russia is one of the most liberal countries in Europe when it comes to laws related to eggdonation. Donor anonymity is legal, and donors can be compensated by clinics. This leads to that O.L.G.A. Fertility Clinic is able to uphold a database of egg donors who are available to provide their services to childless pairs and single women. Of course going for egg donation to Russia from other European country may seem stressful, but the chance it gives can change many women’s lives.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n\tThe rules on eggdonation in Europe and Russia<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n\tRussia is one of the minority of European countries with no considerable legal restrictions on eggdonation. It allows anonymous egg donation by donors aged between 20 and 35 and has at least one healthy child. Donation by a known donor is also allowed, for example when the recipient has a female relative or acquaintance who proposes to be a donor.<\/p>\n

\n\tThere are of course regulations that all Russian fertility clinics such as O.L.G.A. Fertility Clinic must follow. For instance, the private data of donors and recipients must be stored securely, and are a subject to medical secrecy. The medical secrecy rules also tell that identifying information about a recipient may not be revealed to an anonymous donor, or vice-versa. We treat the regulations related to anonymity with great respect. Furthermore, no data about the fact that a child was conceived with the help of egg donation will be revealed by O.L.G.A. Fertility Clinic to the child. We believe this is the best way to protect the parents, the donor and the child. It is only your decision on what to tell your child.<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, egg recipients have the right to know some data concerning the woman who will be their egg donor. This includes the necessary medical factors, a description of her appearance, and her nationality. To keep the donor anonymous, no photo is provided to the patients. The doctors at O.L.G.A. Fertility Clinic are allowed to make photographs of donors on purpose of comparing these to the photograph\/s of the egg recipient and therefore making a good match. We also meet all of our donors individually, and offer recipients the opportunity to meet us in person before making a match.<\/p>\n

\n\tUnder Russian law, married Russian couples who have given the written consent for fertility treatment are legally refered to as parents of a baby conceived as the result of that treatment. This includes children born as a result of egg donation. Most European countries, accept the woman who gives birth to a child as the legal mother.<\/p>\n

\n\tMany clinics in Europe have restrictive age limits for egg recipients. Some clinics even don’t accept women aged over 40 as egg recipients. At O.L.G.A. Fertility Clinic, we can treat egg recipients up to the age of 50. This can be an additional reason to come for egg donation from Europe.<\/p>\n
