{"id":6577,"date":"2020-06-23T07:49:29","date_gmt":"2020-06-23T07:49:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/olgafertilityclinic.com\/?page_id=6577"},"modified":"2025-05-23T09:03:12","modified_gmt":"2025-05-23T09:03:12","slug":"polina-fomina","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/olgafertilityclinic.com\/en\/team\/fertility-nurses\/polina-fomina\/","title":{"rendered":"Polina Fomina"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul id=\"H3tocList\" class=\"toclist fl\">\u00a0<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"cf\">My path towards my profession<\/h3>\n<p>I received a medical education at&nbsp;the State Medical College of Brest city.<br \/>\nMy work experience started in\u00a02008 in\u00a0an oncology center for\u00a0children in\u00a0the department for\u00a0the smallest ones. I was young, brave and\u00a0was eager to help children and\u00a0their parents to fight and\u00a0to hope for\u00a0the best. <br \/>\nDuring the first month there I was learning how to be a treatment nurse. Then I changed to a desk nurse. Apart from the usual work of a desk nurse, we helped our treatment nurse to prepare solutions for\u00a0constant intravenous infusions, kept an eye on\u00a0infusomats (pomps) that\u00a0frequently went out of order, fed and\u00a0washed the abandoned children. IV catheters broke quite often as\u00a0it is difficult to explain to small children that\u00a0they shouldn\u2019t turn or\u00a0bend the arm as\u00a0they want to hold a pencil or\u00a0a spoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The oncology center had a wonderful team, but&nbsp;there was not enough staff, so&nbsp;each employee really spent a lot of time at&nbsp;work, it was our second home. Many children stayed for\u00a0months and, of course, became close and\u00a0dear to my heart. We were happy for\u00a0their achievements. With some of them I still keep in\u00a0touch.<\/p>\n<p>After&nbsp;three years of hard physical and&nbsp;emotional work, I was in&nbsp;dire need of a reboot. So&nbsp;my new job I found in&nbsp;the Netherlands, where&nbsp;for&nbsp;one year I was a nanny for&nbsp;4 wonderful children in&nbsp;a small village. It was a very joyful year! I found out loads of new things. I got acquainted with the country: with culture, local cuisine, visited cheese factory and\u00a0incredible flower park.\u00a0 I, of course, fell in\u00a0love with this little Kingdom.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With children we spent great time together, we walked a lot and\u00a0watched cartoons. One day I showed them Soviet cartoons and\u00a0they were so\u00a0excited! It became our little tradition \u2013 every Friday before\u00a0dinner there was complete silence in\u00a0the house \u2013 everybody was captivated by the cartoons story. But\u00a0my contract came to an end and\u00a0I came back home.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a02012 I was offered a position of a nurse in\u00a0a private medical center where&nbsp;I worked for&nbsp;4 years. I worked in\u00a0a blood collection room and\u00a0also helped different specialists during their appointments. Sometimes I was asked to help in\u00a0an operation room. There for\u00a0the first time in\u00a0my life I saw hair transplant, liposuction and\u00a0ELT under local anesthesia. It was very interesting. I always had a lot of work. But\u00a0then a new employer came and\u00a0the rules changed. I decided to quit and&nbsp;move to Saint-Petersburg.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I passed the courses that\u00a0confirmed my education and\u00a0in 2016 I got a place in\u00a0a private clinic as\u00a0a treatment nurse at\u00a0the pediatric department. In\u00a0general, I took tests, gave vaccines, administered shots and\u00a0helped a pediatrician during appointments. The team was not big, the work was nice. Three years passed and\u00a0some changes happened.<\/p>\n<p>In&nbsp;2019, I was invited to work at&nbsp;O.L.G.A. Fertility Clinic. I saw in&nbsp;this proposal an opportunity for&nbsp;professional growth, studying a new and&nbsp;interesting branch of medicine for&nbsp;me \u2014 reproductive medicine \u2014 and&nbsp;agreed. Now&nbsp;I work in&nbsp;a wonderful team that&nbsp;knows so&nbsp;much about the path of a person to the happiness of parenthood.<\/p>\n<h3>The\u00a0O.L.G.A. Clinic<\/h3>\n<p>I started my work at\u00a0O.L.G.A. Fertility Clinic in\u00a0the autumn 2019. This job was different from my previous experience: a different direction of medicine, new responsibilities and&nbsp;workflow. But&nbsp;I quickly mastered all the nuances and&nbsp;work with pleasure in&nbsp;a team that&nbsp;is a reliable guide for&nbsp;many people on&nbsp;the journey to happiness&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Our team is like elves at\u00a0Santa\u2019s house. Each of us makes her\/his own input into achieving the common goal. And\u00a0before the midnight when\u00a0a present is ready and\u00a0put under the Christmas tree, we all stop for\u00a0a moment. With hope we are waiting if\u00a0the present will be accepted, if\u00a0it settles down in\u00a0this home\u2026 And\u00a0after that\u00a0we celebrate if\u00a0it passes all well.\u00a0 Or\u00a0we get very sad if\u00a0the present was rejected. But\u00a0we never give up and\u00a0keep working to create the miracles together. I am pleased to consider myself one of these elves.<\/p>\n<h3>\nMy education and&nbsp;further professional development<\/h3>\n<p>2008 \u2014 State Medical College of the city of Brest, specialty \u2014 nursing, qualification \u2014 nurse.<\/p>\n<p>2019 \u2014 Center for&nbsp;Postgraduate Education of Medical Specialists, course \u201cModern aspects of infusion administration\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>2020 \u2014 Center for&nbsp;Specialized Education &#8220;Prof-Resource&#8221;, specialty \u2014 nursing (professional certificate is valid until&nbsp;12.2025).<\/p>\n<p>2021 \u2014 Academy of Medical Education named after&nbsp;F.I.
