Egg donation is an opportunity for women to become pregnant and give birth to own healthy children even when they are older and/or there are no healthy eggs left.
The chance of live birth after transfer of one blastocyst created from the donor egg is 50%.
Medical process for the donor egg recipient is very easy compared to own egg stimulation and egg retrieval. So why do usually women find it so hard to begin the egg donation path even when it becomes the only realistic option for getting pregnant and having a baby?
- Because there is always a hope: maybe it would be possible to use my own egg?
- Because there is always a grief when closing the door to using own eggs.
- Because there are always thousands of overwhelming questions coming simultaneously when you start slowly thinking about the egg donation path: will I love the baby? Will I feel the baby is mine? Will the baby love me? Will everything be as normal as it could have been had it been my own egg?
Our former patients Cilla @jagvillhabarn, Sofia @Sofia_Carlberg and I are here to offer you all the information and answers to your questions in our webinar

I have been guiding patients in their egg donation journeys for 20 years. I am open to share with you my experience as much as you need.
Cilla Holm is my former patient who chose to take the double donation path (egg+sperm donation) to become a mom 8 years ago. Today Cilla is one of the wisest psychotherapists I know helping single women and couples on their journeys to parenthood.
Cilla:
“Going to St. Petersburg and making an embryo adoption was not my plan A, nor was it plan B or C or D, but places further down... Of course, there is a lot of sadness in that. Wasted time and money, damaged body, mismanaged jobs and lost friendships. Things have definitely been sacrificed along the way. But it ended up so well, that it all feels worth it now.
And now, I have the opportunity to help others so that for them it may land as plan B or C... Do not put yourself in my situation, as I did because of naivety and ignorance! Teaching yourself and those around you about fertility should be as basic as sex education. Thanks to our donors. How amazing is their effort? I am so humbled by what they did for me! Thanks to OLGA Clinic and Dr. Olga.”
Sofia’s journey took a very special place in my heart. When after 8 pregnancy losses Sofia came to us in Cyprus in 2023, I had so many worries: Is there anything we can do better? can we really help?
Sofia’s hysteroscopy was one of our first HSKs in Cyprus and I was there in the hospital to look after my patients being safe and comfortable. For the embryo transfer I went together with Sofia to Athens because the law opening easy access to fertility treatment for single women in Cyprus came only in December 2023
Now looking back at the whole process, I am so impressed and grateful to Svetlana @Dr.Murashko and the whole OLGA Team for the beautiful work done.
And my gratitude reaches out to dear @Sofia_Carlberg for the will and the action and belief.
Our webinar will help you start collecting your individual basket of information for your personal decision. You will feel surrounded by people in the same situation and supported by professionals.
