Our egg donors
At O.L.G.A. Fertility Clinic, we have our own bank of egg donors: attractive women who have passed our medical tests. The majority of ladies who wish to find donor eggs to become pregnant have faced difficulties in finding a fitting egg donor . Not everyone has a sister or friend who wants to go through the egg donation procedure on their behalf.
Finding donor eggs, which fit your requirements.
Egg donation is a process that requires a lot of dedication from the donor. She must be ready to undertake a number of IVF procedures up to and including the step of egg collection. She must be ready to accept the idea that, if successful, the treatment will lead to the conception of a child carrying her genes. She must also be familiar with the fact that the treatment may fail. Finding such a special person among people you know is hard.
In some situations sisters or friends offer to donate, although not everyone is able to commit to the time and effort that egg donation demands. And even in that case, you may not like to accept the offer, for example if the lady looks differently from you. It is a highly private issue, yet the potential donor may be hurt if you reject her as a donor. There may also be health related reasons why a lady should not become an egg donor. For instance, many clinics do not find donor eggs from ladies of advanced reproductive age good enough for usage in the egg donation program. Moreover, the potential egg donor may feel under pressure to donate, and we have encountered a number of cases where an offer to donate is then taken back when the donor becomes more familiar with what is expected of her, or if she has changed her mind. For the childless woman or couple who are relying on this egg donor, such a withdrawal can be depressing.
Shortage of egg donors
It can also be hard to find donor eggs via a clinic or hospital. A large number of European countries have legislation strictly disallowing anonymous egg donation. At the time this came into force, the amount of ladies offering to donate their eggs to help childless couples has dropped drammatically. In countries such as Italy, Switzerland, Norway and Austria, egg donation is actually forbidden. In the Netherlands, many clinics do not accept egg donors under the age of 30, or those who have not completed their own family, and the egg recipients must be no older than 45. Even in countries with more tolerant legislation, such as the UK, the removal of anonymity resulted in waiting lists for egg donation prolonging up to some years. The possibility of finding donor eggs at all is low, and finding the donor, who satisfies your requirements, is usually nearly impossible.
The O.L.G.A. Fertility Clinic Donor Bank
To prevail over the deficiency of egg donors, O.L.G.A. Fertility Clinic established an egg donor ‘bank’ of fertile young attractive women. Our donors all have proven fertility, with at least one child of their own. They have passed successfully our medical screening program, and are ready to donate when they are chosen. So finding donor eggs in our clinic is easier than in most European countries. Thanks to these ladies, O.L.G.A. Fertility Clinic has no waiting list for egg donation.
