Ivf donor egg treatment at O.L.G.A. Fertility Clinic

Treatment with ivf donor eggs

Ivf donor egg procedure involves three people: the egg donor, the egg recipient and the person who provides the semen to fertilise the ivf donor’s eggs. This could be your husband, partner, or a sperm donor. At O.L.G.A. Fertility Clinic, the egg donor usually is an anonymous person matched to you from our database. Our doctors choose the donors personally, so that the matching becomes as individual as possible. If you do not come to O.L.G.A. Fertility Clinic for an Initial Consultation, we can use your photographs and the data you provide to pick a suitable match.

Parameters for treatment using ivf donor eggs

At O.L.G.A. Fertility Clinic, we accept recipients of ivf donor eggs up to the age of 50 in our ovum donation programme. Anonymous donation is allowed in Russia, and there is no waiting list for these, who seek ivf donor eggs. If you prefer to come with your own donor (such as a relative or friend), we can accept this too. However, most of our patients prefer to use an anonymous egg donor.

All the egg donors in O.L.G.A. Fertility Clinic database are younger than 30 and have at least one child of their own. Their average age is just 26. Once we have picked you a suitable donor match and you have approved it, your ivf donor egg treatment can begin.

How the matching process works

All the egg donors we provide are being thoroughly tested to ensure their medical and psychological health during our recruitment and screening process. Whichever one we choose, you can be confident that she meets these requirements. And this ensures that the ivf donor eggs, she’ll provide will have the best chances to implant and develop afterwards.

We believe in matching you in a very personal way to the right donor. This means that we individually meet you at your Initial Consultation in order to know you better before a donor suggestion. We always try to find out what characteristics are the most important to you. For most of the infertile women, this involves finding a donor who has appearance similar to them as much as possible. We therefore provide comprehensive non-identifying data about their egg donor (i.e. such information that does not contain any personal data). We always meet our donors personally to make sure the match is correct.

O.L.G.A. Fertility Clinic does not supply photographs of donors, to meet the requirements of donor anonymity under Russian law. However, we take photographs of both egg donor and egg recipient, and compare them in order to provide the closest match as possible. This is of course has great importance if you do not come for an Initial Consultation

When selecting an egg donor, we consider similarities in terms of appearance (race, build, height, hair, skin and eye colour), and try to find you the most attractive donor who fits your profile. We can also match for blood group and Rhesus factor. As a donor’s intellectual capability is also an important aspect, we note her educational level and provide details of her occupation. In addition, we can search for a donor who has particular characteristics (such as a Jewish donor) if couples have special concerns. Many of our donors are of North European appearance, with blue/green/grey eyes and blonde or brown hair. It is therefore usually possible to match you with a brunette or blonde donor who has the same eye colour as yourself.

Once you have told us your requirements, we search through O.L.G.A. Fertility Clinic’s databank for the donor, who fits your requirements. We always meet our donors personally to ensure the best possible match. We give you details of our proposed donor’s age, height, weight, hair colour, eye colour, education, occupation, and the age of her child/ren, and ask you to make a decision. If you are not satisfied with the donor we have suggested, you are of course free to ask us to make another match. We do understand the extremely sensitive nature of egg donation treatment, and will only go ahead when you are happy with your choice.
