Who can benefit?

At O.L.G.A. Fertility Clinic we are happy and proud that we can offer all healthy women up to the age of 51 the chance to become pregnant, even they may have no healthy eggs in their ovaries left and there may be no own sperm available for medical and/or social reason.

In our Embryo Adoption Programme we welcome all healthy women under the age of 51 whether they are married, single or in a relationship, including lesbian couples.

In the middle to late 40s women are in very good physical shape which means that they have a very good chance of carrying a baby to term and then delivering a healthy baby. However sadly after the age of 42 there are almost no healthy eggs left in the ovaries due to the egg aging process. Luckily it is possible to use donor embryos in these circumstances to create a healthy pregnancy and the chances for this pregnancy are remarkably high: above 50% with one fresh embryo and almost 80% with two!

Often women in their 40s, whose partners have extremely reduced semen quality, contact us to request embryo adoption. It is surprising for them to find out that even if sperm quality may be extremely poor it is not necessary at all to use donor embryos in the majority of cases! To these couple we are happy to offer an opportunity of genetic paternity and biologic maternity through egg donation with own husband’s/ partner’s sperm!

We have large and positive experience in egg donation with husband’s sperm with extremely reduced number or speed, even if it may be just only single sperm cells found in the whole semen portion! Amazingly, the results with high quality eggs from young healthy donors are almost as good  as with sperm of normal quality or even donor sperm!

Why does it work so well even if sperm quality is low? Young healthy eggs provide compensational mechanisms to poor quality sperms and help them to express their genetic material. In people of advanced reproductive age you cannot expect ideal sperm quality even if medical history is stainless. We have perfect results with donor eggs in this patient group whether sperm quality can be better, worse or very poor.

Eggs age very early in humans so that at the age above 42 there are almost no healthy eggs left. Hence donor eggs may be used to create your pregnancy. Sperms aging process is very very slow. If you still have your own sperm cells available, they are likely to be usable with a little help of ICSI.

Combination of genetic paternity through using own sperm and biological maternity through pregnancy and breastfeeding is the optimal scenario for the future family, hence both partners will be connected to the child by nature!

Please request a telephone consultation with our Doctor so that we can advise you personally on your chances for live birth through egg donation and your husband’s/partners sperm or embryo adoption. We have highly personalized medical approach to every patient and have very high standards of communication so as to prevent rather than cure any complications. Our ultimate goal is a healthy baby in your arms in the shortest possible time!
