'Something good comes with the bad A song’s never just sad There’s hope, there’s a silver lining Show me my silver lining' Song referenced “My Silver Lining” by First Aid Kit Kerry White is a Wellbeing Coach & Facilitator with two decades of experience inspiring people in the workplace to cultivate happiness, health, and resilience. Kerry began this work at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, where she worked for many years. It was here at WHO that Kerry developed a keen interest in the mind/body connection and led innovative wellbeing sessions to help staff stay well. Over the past 20 years, Kerry has expanded her expertise through training as a Shiatsu Therapist, Yoga Teacher, and Life & Executive Coach. Her diverse background equips her with a holistic understanding of wellness. Kerry knows firsthand the complexities of making tough life decisions - she gave birth to her daughter at 49, having made the challenging, but rewarding decision, to pursue solo motherhood, through double donation. Kerry will inspire you to have the courage to take the road less travelled, to find and follow their own truth in life, challenging as this may be. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx"
Kerry White: "6 years ago, I made the most difficult decision of my life - to pursue my dream of motherhood, despite my circumstances. I was 48 and single. My dream came true just 2 months before my 50th birthday - Freya was born! I will be forever grateful to OLGA! I am delighted to share my personal journey on the TEDx stage, with my talk "The road less travelled to motherhood". I hope that this may help you in some way - whether it is to inspire you, give you a little courage, clarity, or hope. My talk will help dispel the silence, shame and stigma that exists around fertility choices, "older"motherhood, IVF including donor conception, and childlessness (by choice or not). Finally, I hope that it will help build more empathy and understanding within our communities around these topics. Please share and spread the word! May your dreams come true."
